Arnold Oil Company of Austin, L.P. is an industry-leading provider of lubricants and automotive after-market parts and accessories. We are currently looking to fill the position of Collections Clerk in our corporate office in Austin TX.
Our ideal candidate has 1-3 years of collections experience as well as other related accounts receivable. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. This is a deadline oriented, fast-paced environment where strong organizational skills are critical.
Key responsibilities include:
(1) Stratify collection activities to maximize cash receipts.
(2) Contact customers by phone regarding overdue accounts and determine reasons for non-payment.
(3) Use skip tracing techniques to locate customers
(4) Issue new customer letters, dunning letters to past due customers, and payment commitment letters
(5) Maintain clear concise records of communications with customers in software provided
(6) Assist in the review of incoming credit applications
(7) Assist with the monitoring of payments on existing accounts and managing credit limits
(8) Assist with the filing of Bankruptcy Claims
(9) Recommend bad debt write offs
(10) Provide assistance to other accounting areas as directed by the Credit Manager
